We have sponsored eTail Connect 3 or 4 times before, as well as Retail CIO Connect a few months ago. The reason we choose to rebook as a sponsor is for the 1-1 meetings, we find they work much better for us compared to large trade shows. Usually, people are walking past a stand and trying to catch them to have a conversation, which just doesn't work as well. What we do involves quite a detailed conversation, and you can't have that catching passing. Having pre-arranged meeting slots really works for us.

Over time, we have been able to understand the audience here and make strategic changes to our approach. Some of the people here we have met, we have intentionally led the conversation with the right product and CTO as opposed to marketing, which historically we would have chosen to do. This is because our focus for these events over the years has slightly changed with experience.

Overall, we have had around 10 meetings, of which at least half should lead to a strong follow up after the event. We also have a couple of meetings that we are going to arrange virtually after the event, so there should be more to come from those as well.

We have really enjoyed the networking opportunities throughout the event. We had a great table at the dinner last night, with a good mix of sponsors and delegates.

The organisation of the event overall has definitely been a 10/10. We generally find that eTail Connect events are the best for us, in terms of meeting the right people and having enough time with them.

Sponsoring eTail Connect should definitely have a positive impact on our 2023 business goals. Based on the conversations we have had whilst being here, there is definitely some deals in the pipeline for us. As our sales cycles are around six months, everything we close before the end of this year will fall into 2023. We have made some good deals off the back of sponsoring eTail previously, so if that continues, then we are happy.

Sponsoring is definitely important for us, in fact we are already booked on for eTail Connect Spring at Silverstone next year, Retail CIO Connect and most likely will be back in Autumn again. We plan to rebook them all.
